Festival & Event Management Certificate
The Arts & Administration Program, in partnership with UO's Division of Continuing Education, also offers a Festival & Event Management Certificate. Throughout the year, several workshops on various aspects of festival and event management are offered to students interested in learning more about the growing events industry. These workshops are facilitated by successful event managers representing some of Oregon's best known festivals and events, and are held primarily in Eugene and the Portland area between September and June. The workshops are part of a larger professional development opportunity available to students while at the University. This unique program has the support of the Oregon Tourism Commission, and the Certificate has been endorsed by the International Festivals & Events Association, the Oregon Festivals & Events Association, and the Convention & Visitors Association of Lane County, Oregon. Besides completing six workshops, certificate recipients must take AAD 520 Event Management, complete AAD 609 Practicum for 4 credits, and complete AAD 606 Special Problems for 2 credits.
