Distance Education

On-line courses offered through the University of Oregon Arts and Administration Program are of two types:

First are those courses that are totally offered via the world wide web.

Second are those courses augmented by on-line instructional strategies.

Both types incorporate one or more of the following: on-line lectures, asynchronous discussions, web exploration, course readers, writing assignments, and other web-based activities that meet course goals and objectives.

Class discussions in chat rooms or on discussion boards is protected from outside viewers. "Visitors" are only allowed into basic informational areas of the classes. Gradebook entry viewing is only available to the student and the instructors. Please note that while some of these classes are predominantly asynchronous in nature, all classes coincides with the on-campus term schedule. It is not possible to enter the classes at mid-term and expect to complete a course. All classes begin the first week of the term.

To participate in these courses you will need:

  1. Internet access (1.5 mps or better recommended/suggested.)
  2. Computer of 1 GHz or better
  3. An active UO DuckID and password
  4. A web browser (for example Safari, Firefox or Microsoft Internet Explorer)
