Alice Guo, the Coordinator in the International Affairs Office of Shandong University of Art and Design in Jinan, China is a visiting scholar in the Arts and Administration Program and Center for Community Arts and Cultural Policy during the months of January, February, and March 2009. While at the University of Oregon, Guo is examining the School of Architecture and Allied Arts' outreach efforts as a part of her ongoing research on the relationship of art schools in China to the communities in which they are located. Guo will consult with AAD alums working in higher education and consult with Doug Blandy, AAD Program Director and CCACP Director, regarding international arts and cultural management, particularly as it relates to China's current efforts to document and maintain its intangible cultural heritage. While in the United States, Guo will also visit schools of art and design in Chicago, Portland, Boston, and Florida.
